Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the shows production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games youll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as youd expect.

This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour

Predictions on what we'll see?

100% games games games? The actual console itself? Price? Surprises like better backwards compatibility? Remasters of PS4 games?

It's backwards compatible with the ps4, there's no point in porting anything.

I've seen plenty of rumors of Microsoft doing a Series S model. I could see Sony launching the PS5 and PS5 Pro together as well.

The thing that has me upset is that I read its going to be like $800. Im flat out not paying more that $450 tops for a console. The update thing is really important, too. I am not buying a system that makes me sit and wait for hours at a time while it updates.

The price on the Amazon leak was 600 pounds. Your only hearing 800 because the direct currency equivalent is 780 us dollars. They've never done that. If it really is 600 pounds then the US price will be 600 bucks.

With the recent news that Sony will not be doing what Microsoft is with exclusives (no Series X exclusives for the first year or two, everything will play on Xbone and XSeX) I'm wondering if they'll have a huge launch lineup.

I'd like for Sony to copy Game Pass. I think they have something like it already but does it offer the full exclusive library with new exclusives added on launch day? If not then they need to. Especially if the console really is $700+. Buying the Xbox is easier on the wallet since I can just get the system and have the full launch library available right away.

The update thing is really important, too. I am not buying a system that makes me sit and wait for hours at a time while it updates.

The $100 refurbished haswell prebuilt computer I got on Ebay a long while back took over an hour to complete a recent Windows update. The computer I built last year took less than 30 seconds to complete the same update.

I wouldn't worry too much about updates this time around.

Took me two days to install FF7R digitally. I installed CoD Warzone through WiFi like a week earlier on both my laptop and Xbox One at the same time and both downloads finished within a couple hours.

This. Its an absolute must for me that download speeds are brought into the 21st century. Basically, I dont care how big the game for update is, updates should take a matter of seconds and game downloads should be less than a half hour. For these obscene prices, this thing had better be on the level of nasas tech.

Not a clue, it's always been like this. PS4 is even closer to the router so I figured it'd be better.

From what I've read this problem isn't as bad/doesn't exist in the Slim and Pro models.
