not the first time I've seen this, and I really like it (as a start, we still need to fix prosecuting those who commit crimes instead of solving them)

but what happens when they burn through it all?

Saying collective punishment is bad means that I'm personally in favor of letting cops face no punishment? The fuck kind of insane mental leap is that?

Nah, do collective punishment. The old guard will shape up real quick and get the youngins inline so they can retire

Then they have no one else to blame but themselves they need to hold other cops accountable otherwise they retire with nothing

no, i mean for their victims. do they then get to say fuck it and go rogue again because they have nothing to lose? do the victims just not get anything, or are we back to wasting tax money covering the asses of the criminals in blue?

Gotcha.

Dip into the salaries, fuck 'em.

Criminals can get their wages garnished already.

Abolish the police and seize their retirement funds. Let communities police themselves.

Yeah, either that or their budget. Cops can abuse and murder people, and who pays for the settlements? Tax payers. They don't get punished so they won't change their behavior.

Who knew cops were all omnipotent? I mean the ability for all cops everywhere to know what every 9ther cop is doing no matter where they are is an amazing power. So tell me, is this something they are born with do they not get it until they graduate from the academy?

More talking about how they respond to cases where the police have clearly did the wrong thing. Which doesn't require omnipotence. Might want to try that again.

The police want to pretend they're a military organization

Collective punishment of units is a military practice.

I see no problem with this.

Abusive Officers should go to jail before they even get time to build their pension fund.

But sure this adjustment can be made

Whatever they want. Crime numbers in already high crime cities that want no police would spike ridiculously. Previously closeted criminals will flourish, and innocents will pay dearly.

Everyone talking about collective punishment like citizens aren't collectively punished by police actions when we're the ones who foot the bill. Where do you think that settlement money comes from?

But then it reallt does only take one bad apple.

One bad move from a rookie and the whole fund disappears? well, no incentive to not be a jackass now.

Or one person just deciding "fuck all" and doing it as petty revenge against his fellow officers?
