I currently pay about $80 a month for 150Mbps through Cox. In a month that will go up to over $100 and will likely increase $10-20 a month each year.

I can switch to CenturyLink and pay about $50 a month for 40Mbps and the price is locked in forever. 40 is the highest speed currently available in my area.

Is 40 enough for online gaming while HD streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Disney, etc) on multiple devices at the same time? I know downloading new games and shit like that will take longer.

Is that the best in your area? Im getting 1Gbps for about $100 through att fiber. My previous provider was spectrum and that was about $120 for 300Mbps

I have 40 or 60 I forget. I can check when I get home and there hasn't been any lag issue. I can play a game online while 2 or 3 devices are streaming videos. I typically call my service provider each year once my price is about to go up to normal and due to being a loyal customer they knock off like $5-10 a month so I'm paying under $80.

as for opinion. 40 MBPS is okay but it's not as fast for downloading games. with 20 mbps my warcraft was about 200 latency.

i currently have spectrum which is over 100 mbps speed and it does pretty well i pay 75$. if asking if centurylink is a good option i would go for it but seek other choices if there's other providers around.

I really don't think so... Maybe you could game without lag and stream on one device in HD, or two devices in shitty quality, but remember if they're quoting 40 then you're probably only going to actually get about 80% of that speed regularly.

The only two providers around here are Cox and CenturyLink.

1GB is available through Cox but it's like $200/month iirc.

CenturyLink has it for like $75 with the price locked in forever but just not in my area yet. I'm hoping eventually they'll bring it here and I could upgrade from the 40 when/if they do.

I'm pretty sure I have 60...40 for you might not work for all that. You could try it then change to 60 if they offer it.
