If you had to choose from the following to be your fate, which would be your least favorable option?

Burning for me, followed by drowning, which IMO is a worse form of suffocation.

I'm probably the most scared of drowning, but from what I've read once the water fills your lungs it becomes quite peaceful.

Burning sounds painful and horrific all the way through.

Indeed. I can't even fathom it. I mean, I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but when you think about the difficulty of, say, keeping your hand on a hot burner (I think most people could only handle a second or two at the absolute most), to imagine that kind of pain across your entire body, and prolonged, possibly for minutes. Ugh, no thanks.

Depends on how I'm burning. If you pour gas over me and set me on fire or drop me into a volcano or something that's probably preferable to drowning.

Slowly baking to death in the middle of the Sahara desert would be worse.

However the truly least preferable way to die are all disease related things. Cancer, rabies, flesh eating bacteria, brain eating amoebas, Lyme, complications from AIDS and such are the worst way of dying I can think of.

That's the one I would choose as my way to die, from the list. I actually like the cold and I find it much more bearable to withstand extreme cold than extreme heat.

Once again, it depends. Being dropped into the middle of Antarctica winter is "easy"

Freezing to death at -2 degrees Celsius? You'll be suffering for a very long time, slowly watching chunks of your body fall off.

Always thought the worst way to go, would be nailed into a coffin (hand and feet, with a metal bar holding your neck in place), thrown into a body of water with oil on top that been lit on fire. Never sure if you'll drown first, burn first but you'll be in agony the whole time.

When you say suffocating, do I have a choice in how I suffocate? I mean you have strangulation under that, and to me that would be the easiest option of the bunch if you can control how it happens. If you wrap something around your neck and if you quickly tighten it you pass out pretty quickly. Do it well enough and your out before you even have a chance to have second thoughts.

Edit: I just realized this was least preferred way to die. Oops. I guess fire, though I hear it's not as horrific as you would expect. I mean obviously it's horrific, but I guess your nerves get fried pretty quickly. Still, until that point must be agony.

Burning, but I feel like buried alive should be in it's only category. It's long, dark, trapped in a box for hours slowly dying. That sounds terrifying. Being strangled or choking is usually a minute or two and done.

In order of worst to best (1 being least preferred, 5 being most preferred)

1.) burning
2.) drowning
3.) electrocution
4.) suffocation
5.) freezing

Pretty sure with freezing you at least start feeling warm or so towards the end from the hypothermia, yeah?

Bleeding out would be the worse way to go if you ask me.

Of the choices on the list I think we could all agree that burning would be the worse.

I think suffocation could be just as bad if it were drawn out and you were struggling.

Out of those, probably suffocation by getting buried alive or drowning.
In general, death by digestion after getting eaten by a big ass snake or something would suck. A lot.

Burning definitely. All these other ones have situations that can make them less shitty, or just aren't as bad. But being burned to death is always going to be terrible. Drowning in salt water is a lot less painful than fresh water. A choke hold, if applied right, while knock you out from lack of bloodflow to the brain rather quickly, before you feel too much pain from the lack of air to the lungs.

Hopefully with drowning you could hold your breath long enough to pass out and then drown peacefully when unconcious

With burning alive its just misery for like 30 minutes
Electrocution should be near instant death
Suffocation probably isnt as bad as burning or drowning
Freezing is just whatever. Get get cold and numb and numb then die

Frankly, I straight up hate the fact that I'm gonna die.
I used to see people die after accidents a lot. So I thought "well, I hope I die peacefully."
But then I saw a few people die "peacefully."
Your pulse kinda tapers off and then your body kinda makes some futile attempts at gasping for air. It's kinda disturbing to watch.
Just knowing I gotta go through that shit one way or the other keeps me up at night. Lol

Ironically enough, I believe this combination actually makes it more feasible for you to survive. I've seen a few stories where people were trapped under the ice of a frozen lake for several minutes (10-15) but when they were rescued they were actually revived and suffered no brain damage. Something about the super cold temperatures lowering their metabolism and heart rate so much that their body was sort of in a "stasis" mode.

Anything less than freezing point of water causes frostbite. You can die of hypothermia (aka freezing to death) at temps far higher than freezing point of water without frostbite, but adding frostbite to the mix makes it worse.
