Did you find its graphics impressive for the day?

they remind me of the genesis. id Have been more impressed by donkey Kong country, yoshis island and other late SNES games I feel.

ok maybe not, Wolfenstein 3D and doom in the Jaguar were more impressive, and cyber morph, but thats it, and DKC was still the most impressive I feel

My father brought one home from a garage sale or pawn shop way back in the day. All I remember was trying to play Rayman but hating how uncomfortable the controller was.

Jaguar was junk, even by early 90s standards. The Jaguar CD was even worse.

I remember when it came out. it was supposed to be this amazing super powerful console, never anything like it before. but I saw the games and they really did not look as impressive as they should have. and I never knew anyone that had one. Atari just can't ever do anything right. they mishandled their original console and caused the 1983 video game crash. and every time since that they try anything it pretty much fails. their only role in history is that they popularized the concept of a home video game console. but that's it. Nintendo did everything they did, better

I would like to have a Jaguar but sadly, I only played it at stores when it was available for a short while.

Red alarm was pretty cool too.

the system intrigues me so much. I always wonder how good the games could have been, it was supposed to be 32 bits after all

I wasn't even aware of its existence back then.

All I knew of were the SNES and the Genesis.

Sewer Shark was only released on 3DO and 32x. Sounds like you might be thinking of the 3DO since it was suggested $699.

Coming to think about it, 64 bits were a disappointment.

console generations were defined by bits. There is a reason why the genesis had that huge 16 BIT sign on its shell, and this is it.

yet the 64 bit jaguar didnt have something as impressive as donkey Kong country and the Nintendo 64 was supposed to be a generation ahead from the ps1 and Saturn but was not

The way James Rolfe explained it was that the hardware was very new and complicated to work with, and no one knew how to tap into the consoles full power. It was at least 32 bits off the top, with the other bits coming from all sorts of wizardry.

its issue reminds me of the Saturn: people were simply more familiar with the 6800 processor (like the one in the genesis) so they used it instead of the jaguars clever multi processor architecture.

the Saturn was like this: devs didnt want to use both processors so they used only one
