Abolish the police. They're corrupt and can't be reformed.

Abolish and replace with something else

I'd love to see national Police Trials where every cop in the country is processed and given a trial to see if they were one of the good ones or corrupt. we need to tear the whole system down and start over. even if there are some decent cops we can't risk it and the system itself has made them rotten. even the good ones are willing to just stand by and not act on their coworkers crimes. so I say not one cop currently working should remain. literally fire every single police officer in the entire nation. shut down every last PD. end the Unions. bring it all to ashes and then build something new back up.

maybe something as simple as just making a new generation of cops but after we tear down the old one and start fresh with good training. we have to kill the corruption, before we can make a good new generation of police that is untouched by that corruption

Here's an idea:

1. Rebuild the system. Law enforcers must now receive a halfway decent education on law. Probably a bachelor's degree level thing.
2. Train them to actually know their place and where they fit into the system. Don't give them the idea that they have more power than they do or should.
3. Train them to stop meeting aggression with more aggression. It doesn't fucking work.
4. Actually get rid of the people who are caught being too aggressive. If you have 10 complaints against you, you shouldn't be getting a job doing the same fucking thing elsewhere.
5. Get rid of the stupid "cop culture" and "we're brothers" and all that bullshit. You're human. You're brothers and sisters just as much with the people you serve as you are the other cops.

Cops don't seem to be given any training in de-escalation tactics. They always do the most violent and aggressive response possible
And 9 times out of ten it just makes things worse. Countless people have been killed because of overly aggressive cops that caused a situation to devolve

Like cases where a parent calls the police to calm down their out of control mentally ill child and then cops just shoot the child

Police forces need to be done away with and reformed into a democratic system. Sherrifs shouldnt be the only ones elected, officers should be able to be voted out at any time

I used to work on a rescue squad. We were trained to not argue with patients and..ya know, treat them like humans lol.
There were multiple calls that come to mind where police would either
1. Show up, start acting aggressive, and make the patient more aggressive.
2. Get to the scene BEFORE us with an aggressive individual. Taze them, yell at them, etc. Then we'd show up and start talking to them like a human and they'd calm the fuck down. One guy was even clearly having psychiatric issues and went from "Ill hunt down and kill all of you" to
"Man I love you guys" in probably 2 minutes. Lol

So yes, its very important.
