It can awaken/trigger existing schizophrenia but in these cases, which are extremely rare, something else would have inevitably triggered their dormant psychosis at some point anyway. But hey, cant push your agenda without some good old fashioned fearmongering eh?

Literally the first line drug use does not directly cause schizophrenia.

All these cannabis addicts trying to defend their drug abuse in this thread is hilarious. I made a post on my fb on the difficulties I've faced due to cannabis abuse and I got over 100 angry comments from cannabis addicts. God forbid you suggest they have a cannabis problem

The best are the people who say, "I have awful anxiety and depression and it helps me" have you tried not drinking energy drinks and caffeinated soft drinks, exercising, investing in a therapist and taking a few natural supplements? Nope. Most went straight to weed, making no lifestyle habit changes or anything. They'll spend $50 for an 8th but not $50 for some therapy.

Therapy much more expensive than $50/visit. And it's a continued expense with no guarantee of success and has much trial and error.

There is enough going on with life as it is. Why not just relax and let your mind drift away from the mundane realities of life and ride the wave in your home instead of watching it burn from your window?

Medical use for weed is needed especially if using oils. It actually helps people with pain. I know an elderly woman who started using oils recently since it became legal here in Canada and it benefits her.

Vaping is better than smoking on your lungs. Moderation as with anything is key.

As someone who used to smoke every single day from ages 20-25, ended up becoming psychotic and getting diagnosed with schizophrenia at 25, and possibly would have still developed it eventually anyway due to family history, I can say I still would have much rather developed it later in life.
