Is the LAPD in California? But I was told by some on CE that California was the best State in the country.

Cops in the other 49 States don't cut into people's wrist using the same knife when removing zip ties.

Reevaluation needed on whether California can claim to be the best when you have news like this comes out.

Who told you California was the best state in the country?

How do you know no cops anywhere else do this?

Why are so dishonest?

Funny how you mention pretending, routinely ignore, etc.

Yet dont realize that each department is different. Its not a see you tomorrow at 8am grocery store kind of job either lmao. You act like you can just sign the sign up sheet and get a badge and a gun.

They shouldve used a sharper knife or you know, safety scissors but at the same time, you probably wouldnt give that many fucks when you want to go home and see your wife and kids after a long day when the same people were throwing rocks at you earlier.
You need more hours in training to be a hairdresser than you do a cop.

LAPD needs reform. Starting at the top. A lot of big, metropolitan PDs need to be slapped with huge reform. Chief position removed, replaced, and their top brass replaced.

leadership starts at the top and progress start SHOULD start at the top.

The kind of attitude you describe is what I would associate with an asshole who just signs the sign up sheet, though.

You get a lot of people saying that a lot of people say that California is the best state, but go ahead. If a "ton of people" are saying "California is the best state", it should be easy to find examples, or at least to point me in the right direction to find them.

My challenge is simple. Within a week, just get a few screencaps of people saying "california is the best".

I'm not even sure what context there is for this. Like, in what topics would a person be given the context to say "california is the best"? What question would derive that response?

There's "what state you think is the best", yes. What else?

There is no other context. I said a ton of people said that California was the best state. I didnt say it was just in casual conversation. I said it because a crapton of people voted for it and posted that it was the best in those best state topics. Or is that not acceptable because it doesnt fit your terms?

This isn't about California though.

This is about this shit head cop and the system in place that would make him even begin to think that it's okay to do what he did. He obviously fears no consequence of his actions because if he did he might not have done the shit that he did.

But sure let's get caught in "oh but I thought Cali was the best state"

Your argument is that its not a good state because likely conservative cops are cutting people with knives. That only says that liberals are too soft to fight back against atrocities committed by the right wing, which is accurate.

Since all states have cops, its hardly an argument for why California specifically loses points for it.

And I wouldnt call most of the users you listed liberals unless I were insulting them. Leftists, sure. (I dont mean to speak for them thats just my general impression of them outside of maybe Doom_Art.)

Okay, you seem to have greatly misunderstood my post and have taken false assumptions because of it. First, not once did I say California isnt a good state (I dislike their water, but I didnt even mention that here). Second, I said nothing liberals being too soft; only that a lot of liberals here say that California is the best state. Third, I said nothing about Californias cops, or why their bad police force should penalize the state.

All my post was saying was that a lot of people here have said that California is the best state. Theres nothing else being said.

Lol no. Not sure why people say this, considering its blatantly wrong. Pretty sure being a hair dresser is community college classes for a year or two. Many departments want a bachelors degree, the very least an associates degree and then academy is up to 40 weeks depending on the state.

So no, it doesnt take more hours of training to be a hair dresser than a cop.

Hair dressers have a separate vocational school that you go to. Name varies but many teach things besides hair, and for the first 3 months or so you practice on old wigs and after that you can start taking customers & it costs less than going to a professional salon at the expense of getting your hair done by an amateur (worst thing that ever happened to me was I got a really minor burn from an iron).

Depends on location but generally takes 2-4 years as an apprentice and you pass an exam for journeyman. Youre paid the whole time, you learn on the job and by the time you at eligable for the journeyman exam you should have studied enough and seen enough on the job. More ranks continue from there but I am unsure of the specifics.

MachineJaipur posted...

Yes. Some departments its just being 21 years old or above and having been to police academy without any felonies and a clean background.

The departments that dont require any college education often have a glass ceiling where you wont rank up because of a lack of education.

Its a 6-7 month process at most departments between the written tests, physical fitness tests, background check, polygraph exam, oral board interview, medical, Captains interview, etc. regardless.
