https://www.westword.com/news/covid-19-update-colorado-facing-400000-evictions-through-fall-11721530

Against this backdrop, the CEDP study calculates that nearly 420,000 Coloradans representing 181,000 households will be at risk of eviction by September as a result of accumulated debt totaling around $765 million. Among the most endangered will be communities of color, undocumented individuals and low-income families.

"We" aren't gonna do anything. Landlords have been seething to get people out as soon as they can.

I'm still worried about getting an initial eviction moratorium on my state.

Any time someone on this board mentioned that evictions and foreclosures were on hold during the COVID quarantine, I made it a point to explain that landlords and lenders would likely bill for several months of rent and mortgage at once, and that the lack of work and income would lead to a housing catastrophe worse than 2008.

That's why it's time to open the country back up.

People seem to think landlords are rich and evil but most hardly break even.

We are having tent villages popping up all across jogging trails and under bridges in Denver. It's only going to continue to grow now that it's warmer.

I know for a fact that many of the protesters that were at the Denver protests are homeless.

A good chunk of the people getting evicted are also from out of state so they literally have nowhere to go.

It works both ways. I know a landlord who shut off his tenant's utilities because he's behind on rent.Courts and cops aren't available to stop it.

No we should have just told the banks they could eat the loss on a few months of mortgage payments, and have landlords not be able to backcharge rent

Ayyyeeee

Realistically idk, I hope that they give people time to get back on their feet before they expect them to make back payments on past rent but we'll see, Landlords are cold MF's.
