Sometime in the 2030s when doing so would only require the push of a button, and it will probably be done by individuals rather than the studio itself, and this would take place after a court case rules that people can use upgrade tools outside of games and hook into the games themselves to upgrade them after there is a big fight because a studio -- probably EA -- demands monetary compensation for work created by individuals outside of their studios. The company in question, let's say 'EA,' will claim they breached the rights of their individual game but the tools will have been developed for any game of general purpose, so the court will rule that 'EA' has no claim except that they can stipulate that players can't hook into their game with upgrades. Other studios might follow suit, but they will quickly realize that it serves no function since you can't really catch anyone doing it and police aren't interested in such stupid matters anyway, so you breached a company's code of conduct in order to enjoy yourself -- (who cares?)
Then the 2030s rolls along and they say they'll upgrade their own game by basically adding a bunch more "content" that people outside of their studio can't add. Enough time will have passed that they would consider making a remake of this game, but there's no point because the story line had become vanilla by that point and they could produce a much better game that includes all of MGS4's plot and gameplay but includes literally thousands of hours of additional content and playstyles, so literally no one will demand a remake and those who do will have the push button option (virtually legal).

Hope that helps. Have a great day!

In less than 5 years time I would imagine an emulator should be able to run this flawlessly on a cheap laptop.

Yeah, maybe. I guess you could say I'm kind of sad. You might have meant to say pathetic. That's true, I'm pathetic.
However, I would consider it within reason to state most of us are, since this is a video game message board website.

But I don't know what you mean by that and I asked for clarification.
The least you could do is prove that you aren't completely lethargic so I can take your criticism with a shred of seriousness.
