It's sad that it has even taken this long for America to take systemic racism and police brutality seriously. Colin Kaepernick kneeled for these exact issues in 2016 and everyone vilified him for it and he lost his career all because of a peaceful protest. He was right all along whether you want to admit it or not. This country is in such a shit place right now in part because of the people who condemned Kaepernick in the first place.

It wasn't an empty gesture. I think there are many people feeling foolish about the kneeling now.

He got replaced by like jimmy Clausen or some scruffy with no argument by anyone yet he became some invaluable piece for a franchise to have once he wore cop pig socks, ignored the anthem and praised castro while telling people voting didnt matter.

He has also never said anything profound or engaged in any challenge over his belief and world view. Kneeling during the anthem obviously didn't help the country at all and has only divided it more. He could have called attention in way better ways and actually articulated real legislative reform which is the only way to solve this, but he just wants to preach oppression and anger, not solutions.

Nope, hes a hero, deserves a Nobel Peace Prize imo. He even had the balls to protest his own skills and go 1-10 in his last season, so show some respect please.
