I was wanting to educate myself on racism and a colleague recommended the movie to me. It's based on the true story of Walter McMillian and his lawyer, Bryan Stevenson, who tries to save McMillian from execution for a crime that he did not commit. Although it takes place in the 80s, it is still extremely relevant. I was moved to tears in more ways than I can express.
Michael B. Jordan (played Killmonger in Black Panther) really shows his range here. Jamie Foxx is excellent as well. There's a book of the same title that I plan to read but it's understandably sold out in most places right now. I know the movie has been talked about a lot this week, so most of you have probably heard of it already, but I thought I'd put my thoughts out there anyway. --- Though the fear of death is a common one, the fear of life is a more rational one. ...
