do you believe the police shooting in that case was a justified one? iirc the cop in that case went to trial but was found not guilty. iirc there was also rioting in the st. louis area after that verdict

Cops who feel threatened should not get automatic benefit of the doubt, it should be held to a reasonableness standard like anyone else.

The courts ruled a few years ago that police can shoot your dog if it moves or barks in their presence. It is absolutely insane what cops are allowed to get away with.

@Smallville Among the famous ones where the victim was unarmed, it seems to be one of the few that is justified.

Uh, legally speaking they are held to the same standard, other than police having no duty to retreat. It's convincing your average jury of that that's the problem.

I can't keep track of all these crimes from cops. I remember the name but don't remember the details. but I am sure it was unjustified.

the problem is that the courts and politicians are too chicken shit to stand up to the cops. that's why they coddle cops so much. if they don't, they look like they are weak on crime and then lose their jobs

The initial outrage I guess was somewhat justified. But almost right away there was witness and FORENSIC proof that Brown grabbed that cops gun. I mean that is literally deadly force after committing a felony crime.
