Cursed year? Not really. A bad one maybe due to the virus but that's it, there are no protests where I live.

Japan has a bunch of anime being delayed until next year, major events cancelled, a bad digital Comiket, a couple of actors dying from the virus, and then the 4 month delay with imports (unless you aren't using EMS to ship your goods)

I've heard people in real life talk about this being the signs of the end times. Other countries have this all time. Riots, disease, flooding, starvation. These are every day occurrences for some countries, and it has be for a while. It just shows how self centered some people are, they think only when stuff happens to them that it's the sign of the end times.

Abnormalities in how often some of the geysers in a national park are errupting (old faithful becoming more erratic, and steamboat increasing notably in eruption frequency): Only America. But if these ARE signs of 2020 just getting warmed up, then the end result is gonna be a mess for others too.

Can we stop pretending that there was ever going to be war over that? It was ridiculous fearmongering from the start. Iran showed that too with their token retaliation clearly meant to appease their people while also avoiding any real escalation.
