Yes. Premise starts with humans living in a three-tier walled city. Government tells citizens that outside is no-mans land inhabited by people-eating giants Abnormally tall giant appears one day, kicks down wall and vanishes, leaving the outermost city defenseless to invading smaller giants. Protag taken as refugee into inner walled city, grows up and trains to join military force responsible for exploring the land outside the walls.
