Do I think he should be charged? Absolutely. He murdered another human being in cold blood despite the person complying with his requests and repeated that he couldnt breathe due to how he was being restrained.

Knowing the situation as it is? Theres a faint glimmer of hope that hell actually be tried and convicted. The realist in me says hell be tried and found not guilty.

1st degree murder? No, because there is almost zero chance they would ever manage to get a conviction on that. Should he be charged with a lesser murder count, absolutely.

They should charge him for the crime he committed. Things are just going to get worse and worse, and believe me it can get A LOT worse, until the sworn guardians of the public are made accountable for their betrayals.

All four cops should be charged, they were all implicit or expressed actual intent to kill him. They had every opportunity to arrest him or even keep him on the ground without murdering him. They knew what they were doing.

Now being charged doesnt mean they get convicted. Maybe there really were some extenuating circumstances not caught on video that explained their actions. But the matter needs to be handled in a court of law.

It should be 1st degree murder, but that (intent) will be hard to prove and he's a cop, so convicting at all even w/ video evidence is much harder, so I'd settle for 2nd degree murder.

This. All four should be charged with murder. Four regular citizens engage in a dangerous crime together but only one of them actually kills someone? All of them get brought up on felony murder charges.
Should be no different for police. Especially since they were actively preventing good Samaritans from intervening to save Floyd's life. They're 100% complicit. Maybe they only get like 10 years in prison instead of life like chauvin deserves. But they belong in prison, too.

They should all be thrown away for life, but I suspect this behaviour is encouraged by the police as an entity so they'll be protected for following procedure and they'll claim to review whether sitting on someone's neck is appropriate.

Murder should just be murder. This whole "degrees" concept is just a lame excuse so perpetrators can get off on a technicality.

ill probably get modded for saying it, but whatever, i dont post here often enough to care anymore

police should be held to a higher standard, which should also mean more severe punishments.

we should bring back crucifixion for extreme cases. nail the fucker up out in front to the police station and forbid anyone from helping him. let him sit up there and beg for his fucking life like the man he murdered. when his colleagues see what is happening it would for sure make them all question themselves when posed with similar situations in the future.

it is unfortunate that the rioters are targeting innocent people and victims. they really should be turning their anger on the establishment. they had the right idea with the police station. burn down city hall, burn down the governor's mansion. make it real for the people who are responsible for dealing with this situation, who are currently not dealing with this situation.

All that would mean is murder would get a lesser sentence and aggravating circumstances would get tacked on top, making the degrees all over again.
