before seeing all the facts, hearing from everyone involved, doing investigations, and obtaining warrants?

it feels as if they immediately arrested them after they were suspected of doing something wrong.

The first thing the police want to do is get control of the situation. The last thing they want is to see their actions being recorded by media. They also know that they can't arrest the media. It's nothing more than a power play by the police, because they know he's just going to get released.

better question is how they arrested the guys with the big fucking camera and van? its impossible to mistake journalists for anything but journalists, which means it was intentional.

As shocked as people are to watch a video of a 4 person CNN camera crew being arrested live on TV without cause this is exactly what black people go through everday. The police have tooo much power, they know it, and they abuse it. Even if they have no charge that would hold up in a court of law, if they don't like you they will put you in jail and ruin your next few days/week. Its blatantly unconstitutional and an abuse of power and it needs to fucking end. I grew up seeing it all the time. I would see someone be rude to a cop and the response would be "do you want to go to jail?", and I remember thinking...but he didn't break any law. I soon realized that it didn't matter if you broke a law or not.

The people need to arm themselves and fight back its the only way. When someone has a gun and is authorized to use it and you don't, you will never be treated with respect. They have ALL the power and they know it.

Are you seriously advocating that people get in shoot-outs with the police? Maybe, just maybe, it'd be better to hold them more accountable instead?

Yeah, I know the rhetoric is high right now, but advocating for an armed resistance to the police is going to end very badly for everybody involved. You're not going to win a shootout with a militarized police force. That just isn't happening.

You should be able to defend yourself against police without any legal repercussions. If a random person got in your face and tried to attack you stand your ground laws can apply there. Why not against police?

Fighting back against police would lead to an all out street war. The first two Robocop
movies painted a pretty good picture of what that would look like, minus the evil corporation and cyborgs. Cities would be reduced to how Old Detroit was portrayed, with innocent people caught in the crossfire.

We are slowly getting there anyway. It won't be long before police departments are run by corporations. I mean the government already is.
