Steven Aucoin, an officer of the Kaplan Police Department in Louisiana was FIREDafter he posted a facebook comment where he said it was "unfortunate" that MORE black people didn't die from COVID-19!!

COVID-19 has hit the african american community the hardest as numbers show they represent a large majority of deaths in the worst areas of the United States such as New York.

The shocking comment was spotted under a local news station live feed during a press conference from Gov.John Bel Edwards

The chief police officer, Joshua Hardy explained how his now ex-officer commented under the news feed that was run by KLFY News

Aucoin was responding to a commentator as the police department said "We are writing this to inform everyone that we were made aware of the situation with the ocmments on Facebook from Steven Aucoin. Chief Hardy had the incident looked into and the officer wa terminated. We're held to a higher standard than normal civilians so you got to watch what you do, you got to watch what you say, you can't just go and post anything you want on social media"

Many praised the firing of the officer as Ang Garcia said "Thank you for the swift action, i hope this dept and others continue to follow this example"

His comments come as a number of dimissal from racially charged incidents involving police and people that started on May 21st with Ahmaud Arbery and then on May 25 with George Floyd and then following thta with Christian Cooper in NYC.

However, Joshua Brothers, a firefighter and army veteran said Aucoin's comments could have been TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT due to a recent fb update where not all comments appear in chronological order. But Chief Hardy said they looked into that and based on his other comments he's made on his facebook, they decided he was not suitable for the uniform.
