My endgame level was 76-77. I was very over-leveled, lol.

I quite like FF 2 as well, tbh. It's got my favourite overworld theme of any of the games, and I think for its time it was probably very impressive. You can feel however you like about the gameplay, but I think they also deserved kudos for trying something different.

Wait, FF1 was hard...at level 77?? You can GET to level 77? That must have been one hell of a set of changes in whatever port you were playing. I remember beating the game at like, I dunno, 40 and feeling super overpowered.

The final boss also used self-Curaga for 9999 regularly. I would deal about 1500 per turn (estimating, and it was probably less) and could never make any headway.
