Its pretty common for me to try and hang out with one of my friends, check up on them, see how their doing, etc. I dont mind doing it, thats part of what being a friend is about, right?

Well, the past few days Ive been thinking. And I realized that its always me initiating with people. Nobody is asking me to hang out, how Im doing, or anything really. One of my friends seems to completely ignore me for long stretches, and then acts like nothing happened.

When were hanging out, its not like we dont have a good time. We go back years, and years. Always laughing it up whenever were together. But its lately started to feel like if I didnt push to spend time together, Id probably have stopped talking to them years ago, simply because theyd have forgotten about me.

Not sure how I feel about that, CE. Maybe Im looking at it the wrong way?

Friendships have dynamics, maybe they're just used to you initiating stuff? If you always do it, they probably don't worry about it and let you handle it.

I was the initiator in my group. Haven't heard from them in years now since I stopped reaching out. Way I figure it now is if they want to talk to me they know how to find me.
