Should a businsess be allowed to decline a gay custom product?

There were multiple stories and incidents a few years back but all centered around the same general principal. A gay person or couple entered a Christian businsess (Usually a bakery) and requested a custom gay product (usually a cake) for a wedding or a birthday or an event or something.

The businsess would refuse on "Religious moral grounds" and then the customer would sue for discrimination.

Then public hysteria would brew and lots of people would scream at each other.

https://i.imgur.com/pGoAW2W.jpg

The question boils down to: Is a private businsess allowed to refuse custom services or should discrimination protections supercede businsess rights?

I think it's fair to say that if a bakery refused to serve a Mexican couple, everyone would be against them.
But if a bakery refused to make a gun cake to celebrate firearms for a 2A loving couple, everyone would say it's their right.

So where is the line drawn?

If I own and operate my own business I should be able to say no to anyone for any reason. End of discussion. Maybe I think oreo cake tastes like shit and I just refuse anyone who insists on oreo it really doesnt matter.

Of course you cant always say why youre refusing someone so obviously if you own the business you need to have a few handy lines ready for whenever customers come in you don't want to serve. Answers or methods that are politically correct like just say sure and never actually make the cake then before they come to get it say it fell then refund them over the phone.

So you should be allowed to refuse to serve black guys or women for the reason of not liking them?

Well most Christian businsesses are open about being Christian.

I don't like this weird, forced situation.

In reality, they just go to a different cake place and the community hopefully black lists the other bakery

I don't like people being forced to do something they don't want to do and I don't like -isms

I don't think the gay couple liked being forced to go another bakery which wasn't the one of their choice.

When I eat a cake I make sure it's been tested for homosexuality as to not get any homosexual cake in my mouth, then it might turn me gay! First the water and now the cakes. The government wants me gay for some reason but so far I've dodged the gay bullet but I think me driving a Kia soul gives out the wrong signs. Ok I'm probably already gay ffs. Give me a slice of the fucking cake.

I don't think I've seen a case yet that wasn't pre-setup on this.

But of they want a gay cake, somewhere that will do a gay cake. I don't take my car to a Toyota mechanic that won't work on my BMW. Besides the batter will taste like resentment...love needs to be baked in

If it's just a wedding cake for a gay wedding they should do it.

If it's a custom cake they don't offer normally they can decline.

If it's a written message they don't want to do they can simply sell the standard cake to the customer and the tools for the customer to write a message themselves.

If they turn down a customer because of their orientation instead of the product they're asking for it's discrimination,

That's not comparable at all.

Cakes are not cars

Any bakery can bake a cake. The Christians aren't opposing due to brands or different mechanical components. They are refusing on moral grounds.

Toyota isn't refusing to give you BMW parts on moral grounds.

You just dodged the actual point and rambled instead

imagine youre having breakfast at the diner and then you see a black couple sit in the table in front of you and they get kicked out and someone points to the no blacks, Asians or gays sign at the entrance. Do you really feel like finishing your meal?

imagine there is a criminal and a gay cop gets shot trying to protect people and then he is in the ER and some mike pence wannabe doctor is like let him bleed, he is gay and I wont touch him
