A bunch of small states can gang up on a large state, even if they have a tiny fraction of the population. Even in the house, with a ceiling of 435 representatives, large states can continue to grow and small states can shrink and the representatives stay the same. Oh and there's also the EC. Most laughable interpretation of democracy ever. Before anyone says USA is a republic, not a democracy. The republic is a form of representative democracy. It is considered a type of democracy.

Yea. In the Senate it crazy how North/South Dakota, Wyoming and Rhode Island Vermont, Delaware each get 2 senators each for a total 12 senators and combined their population is like 6 million that not even bigger than NYC/LA let alone other states like Tennessee.

It's even more ridiculous when you realize the House, which is supposed to be split fairly based on population is suffering the same problem.

Because the amount of seats is locked. The number was meant to increase as the population increased.

The Senate is fine. It's supposed to represent states, not populations. The House is the problem.

The literal only reason why the House is stuck at 435 is because reps don't think that their current chamber/office buildings could hold many more members and they don't want to allocate funds to a) expand the house chamber and b) build a new house office building.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
