I'm not totally sure what the board will be exactly but it will be aimed for radical leftists who are either academics or serious activists. We pretty much won't have right wing trolls at all.

I'm not level 33 yet but it is happening this year.

I still have some time to figure this out. I want it to be like this sophisticated board free of trolls that aims for serious discussion of left wing academics and activism. I need to narrow it down a little bit but board 261 is just ridiculous.

I don't want to make it like, totally anti free speech, but obviously no trolls or racists, and while I am open to people with various view points discussing a variety of topics I want the aim to be for the type of people who read Noam Chomsky and listen to Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman.

Well it won't be a very sectarian sub. I just want to create a space for leftist activists and academics (or even a blend between the two) to come together and have intelligent, civil discussion about politics. Personally I don't even label myself. I guess I am kinda an anarchist, kinda a socialist, maybe a democratic socialist. But I am pretty well read, finishing up my Masters in Political Science next month, and have done a lot of activism over the years and would like to create a space for like minded people. We won't just ban anyone who isn't a communist, but obviously no trolls or shit posting.

But being radical left means being against wars and having a humane economic system that doesn't put profit over people. It also means being tolerant and accepting of any marginalized group, while also acknowledging your privilege.

Being radical right (I don't even like using the term radical here, they aren't "radical" they are reactionary) means being a white nationalist, potentially causing wars with other countries, oppressing people, being sympathetic or even enthusiastic to genocide, etc.

Is Noam Chomsky really the moral equivalent to Richard Spencer?

I wouldn't call that liberalism. And antifa isn't stupid, I've marched with them on several occasions. I don't understand how you can dismiss a group of people fighting fascism when white nationalism is clearly on the rise. When you hear people chanting "The Jews will not replace us" You need to freaking act against that.

Hitler and the Nazis were considered a fringe movement at one point of time. Hitler was in jail, the Nazis got like 2% of the vote during that election. It took the death of 6 million Jews and a World War for us to finally do something about it. I say lets prevent the problem before it actually starts. Wanting lower taxes doesn't make you an inherently bad person (though some people who want to lower taxes actually are, for other reasons) espousing hate speech is not something that should ever be tolerated. Richard Spencer and his goons have no place in civilized society.

I'm too confused for this. Is anarchism individualist politics for the purpose of self determination? Where does collaboration on development initiatives fit in. Is asking too many questions considered trolling?

Nah I think it would be great if people asked questions, especially if we had a good user base to respond. We could even have general topics for less mainstream ideologies like communism or anarchism. I bet there are a few users that would like to participate in said topics.

Basically I just think 400 and 261 have too many trolls, and there are a lot of interested leftists on gamefaqs who would like a space to talk about their ideas in a serious manner.

Anarchism should have a foundational principle, but I guess specious ideology is closer to coherentist epistemology. I'm legitimately wary of self-determination as an anarchist principle- but listening to the different topics wouldn't be of much help to someone, imo...

I'm not in academia by any sense of yhe word. I've worked in factories my entire life, but I'm well read in the subjects and material you plan on discussing.

I mean, sure, hand sanitizer is great and all, but it's kinda useless when the govenrment starts abusing their newly gained power to keep further control over everyone.

Antifa is a ancom organization at it's core so their chief focus on the subject of lockdowns is providing for the community as best they can. IE running or assisting mutual aid operations.

As a communist organization their stance on the lockdowns is in favor of keeping it locked down to make sure the workers are protected and not put at risk by being forced to return so their employer can make money.

Philosophy is introduced, creates political conservatism. Geographically they are separate regions, to be fast and loose about things... So is it necessarily the case that conservatism in this situation cannot be avoided?
