I eat meat, but I can't bear to see living animals in pain and suffering. Did the meat I eat suffer as the animal it came from was killed? Sure, but I didn't see it. I could not bring myself to hunt and butcher an animal to feed myself. I can't even walk into butchers and see pigs hung up without feeling sad about it. Thats not palatable to me.

If theyre deliberately letting an animal suffer, i.e. killing it slowly, torturing, suffocating, etc., then yeah thats pretty shitty. Also killing it and then just leaving the carcass to rot is shitty as well.

I think its decent to kill an animal with your own hands, in regards to eating and butchering. As opposed to letting someone else do it and just play pretend as you tear into a juicy steak or whatever.

I wish there were more ethical treatment of slaughter animals as a whole in the US and rest of the world. I want their death to be as painless and peaceful as possible, and i dont give a fuck if that raises the price of meat. People are spoiled anyways, they can eat other stuff sometimes. Same with stacking egg laying hens on top of each other so they can barely move, then debeaking them. Its disgusting

well yea there is quite a difference between torture/enjoyment/sport and killing for food.

And that didn't happen either. You just love to make s*** up don't you? The actual original thread ten years ago was about me saying how my two year old niece was taking a three toddler-sized bites out of a pizza slice, putting it back in the box that we were sharing from and then grabbing another slice and doing the same. When I saw her do so with a third slice, I stopped her taking a fourth and made her eat what she could from just one slice and I finished off what she had put back in the box.
