Currently a 74 average after 57 reviews. It's billed as a ShaRkPG and plays a lot like a PS2 era arcade game, but missions can get repetitive. However, it's undeniably fun to play a shark and kill humans. IGN - 7/10 Maneater's monster-shark feeding frenzy is fun but simple, and that lack of depth causes it to become repetitive as time goes on. Game Informer - 8/10 Maneater is weird, different, and just flat-out fun. I had to see where this story was going, and I thoroughly enjoyed its developments Destructoid - 7/10 Maneater squanders some of its potential, but it's perfect for a rainy weekend when you're craving something original. With some tweaks and patches, it'll have an even brighter legacy; or at the very least, become a cult classic alongside more out-there projects in gaming history like Stubbs the Zombie. I swim with the grace of a dolphin and the speed of a cheetah. However, when it comes to attacking fish and humans and itty-bitty baby seals, I will confess I am quite clumsy. JackMan 05/23/20 6:03:26 AM #5:	It's a fun little game, but a bit short and easy. I'd managed to get all achievements before the game had even technically released. Maybe 10 hours? Also the game crashed about 6-7 times during that. Playing on Xbox though, so might just be that platform. Game needs the option to turn off the UI too. Really pretty areas are spoiled a bit by constantly seeing catfish lifebars. --- Still the number one reason for the success of the Internet. Salutations, citizens!
