I like them over Enterprise because they are much cheaper for the same vehicles.

I work for Enterprise, and were struggling too - laid off about half our workforce and my managers all got fired.

Not surprised, never really understood how there managed to be so many companies in such a niche market.

I have a stupid question, in a situation like this do they have to immediately close down every Hertz location after declaring bankruptcy?

I worked for Hertz 10 years ago. It was bad. All my co workers had been there for years and knew all these tricks to basically fuck over the customer and thats how they would get bonuses.

Overall shady company

Depends on the type of bankruptcy. Chapter 7 means liquidation of the business, while chapter 11 means they keep control.

Typically its somewhere around 50% Insurance, 30% retail, 20% corporate (obviously rough estimates). Corporate and Retail has come to a screeching halt and even insurance rentals are down because people aren't going out and crashing their cars since they're staying home.

Avis/Budget don't do insurance rentals but Hertz and Enterprise did. Enterprise is hurting hard af right now too but they're gonna end with a monopoly on the market in the end.
