Not like levels are a huge deal in Berseria. As Velvet, you can pretty much just carve your way through everything.

Just got through the trip back to Aball.

Magilou's starting to get on my nerves -- like, I could not stand being around a person like her in real life lol -- she's stepping past being funny into just outright mean territory, and she's been acting real shady for the last couple hours on top of that. Also, someone needs to save Bienfu from her.

I like how varied and weird the growing cast of side characters is -- a lizard deamon, a headless suit of armor, a plant girl, a prince and his monster hawk, a snake milf, and now they got a couple of puppies tossed in the mix too. It's hilarious. Outside of Kamoana's voice being literally the worst thing ever, it's quite an enjoyable cast of side characters.

Though, I am enjoying her trying to put on comedy routines with everyone, to terrible results. I didn't expect actual scenes devoted to that.

I hate Magilou's archtype, in general. She herself was a rare exception. I get your pain though.

She is my favourite party member.

Doing some side quests, and jeez there's been so many typos in the dialogue lately.

Magilou saying "I totally had them on the hook," and the text says "I totally had them a hug." And earlier Medissa said "We don't know if therions can catch a cold, let alone how to treat them," but the text said, "little known how to treat them."

This seems to be the point in the game where the people who put in the text just didn't give much of a shit lmao. And I remember earlier Rokurou and Zaveid saying stuff that just didn't match their text entirely, during the Stonebury and fishing episodes.

I know there's a lot of text and dialogue in the game, but big yikes haha. (And they keep switching between Palamedes and Palamides)

Yeah, that scene was kind of fucked and left me feeling a bit sour about the game. If Oscar wasn't endoctrinated I would have really hated her for striking him down.

Oscar unfortunately ended up being a joke instead a capable antagonist / rival to Velvet like they initially seemed to be going for. Dunno why people even consider him a "major" antagonist in the game. The guy goes throughout the entire game doing what he believes is right for his family and friends and keeps getting rekt until his eventual death.

Yeah, Oscar was pretty lame from start to finish -- I always chuckled whenever he popped up cuz he's always just losing fights -- but that scene was still pretty impactful, if only because of the parallels they made between Velvet and Teresa and Arthur. That was nice.

Between the Aball stuff and now this, Velvet's not had a great couple of days lol.

Just got through the Earthpulse stuff and beat Melchior's ass. I hate when the story starts to get good but you're forced into a dungeon for like an hour straight...

Laphi being Arthur's sacrifice willingly was obvious, as was Seres being Celica, though I feel like the reason why Velvet's continuing on is lost on me. Innominat needed Velvet's anger and despair, but Phi snapped her out of it, and now she's continuing to defy reason because...she just doesn't want to stop? I def couldn't follow her train of thought.

"I can't forgive Artorius and Innominat, because they made me try to forget about the past and sacrifice myself, and I used to be happy in the past, so I'm going to keep trying to get revenge." ...Is that what she was getting at? Cuz her monologue made no real sense to me how she worded it. And then she said that Arthur and Innominat "took something precious from her," which also makes no sense to me (unless she's just talking about Laphi again). I'm rewatching it on YouTube right now, and I just...can't figure out what the fuck she's trying to say.

Basically, she's getting back at them for making her go through all that shit. Killing Laphicet in front of her. Didn't matter if Laphicet was cooperating. She didn't know at the time and it traumatized her. They took her humanity by turning her into a daemon. Used her as a tool for years! Never bothered to tell her shit until they couldn't keep it from her anymore. She felt betrayed before and after the reveal. So she's pretty much doing it for herself now that her reasoning for Laphicet is gone. They took her life, in a sense.

I knew Phi was gonna be able to bring un-daemonize him, but I didn't think they'd kill him off despite that. That fuckin' sucks.

Also, should I just be breaking down all my older weapons/items whenever I get stronger ones (after I get their Master Skill, anyway)? Cuz my inventory is full lol, and I don't think I'm ever going to use them.

You should definitely clear up space in your inventory so you can get new equipment. Either by dismantling and / or selling them. It's one of the biggest pains in the ass in this game that you have to keep doing it though.

Agreed. Eleanor is the only character that is remotely believeable. She is my second favorite to Eizen. Anyway, the party does some bad things, but occasionally help some people out, and then are like "I didn't do it for you, were not nice, good people", but keep going out of their way to help some people anyway even though it has nothing to do with their goal. It's dumb and the group is full of edgelords for the sake of trying to be different, but it comes off as lame when you think about it. Pretty much why I prefer Zestiria's cast over Berseria's.

Yeah, it's super annoying. A better system would've been something along the lines of only getting one of each piece of equipment, then being able to buy the upgrade materials from the store after finding them in the fields, and being able to attach whatever 2 bonus skills you want to them from a pool that you build up throughout the game.

The whole "breaking down, then building up others" thing is way too tedious, and honestly just a waste of time.

Also, jesus christ Arthur -- brainwashing everyone in the world to commit suicide if they so much as cut in line at the grocery store once is not an appropriate response to your wife falling into a pit. This is some Tobi from Naruto level of an overreaction. Anime villains are so fucking extra.

Shigure was on some Kenpachi shit, sealing his power and everything.

Apparently Rokurou's the least popular party character in this game, but I don't see how. He's been cool as hell since he first showed up. Probably my favorite character in the group.

He doesn't really have an arc, he's pretty much exactly the same at the end as he is at the beginning. He's still very cool, though.

Yeah my issue with the party in this game is that there isnt a lot of development for half of them. Rokurou, Eizen and Magilou are just kinda the same from start to finish compared to the other three who actually develop a lot as characters. Just wish we could have gotten more out of them

HxH is very boring. Wasn't at first, but after it devolved into like 100 episodes dealing with ants it just became draining to keep invested.

Fortunately the last couple episodes went back to focusing on the characters that i cared about, but still. I doubt I'll ever read the manga since its release schedule is so awful.

Listening to every NPC conversation and animated skit? Idk, I ended up running through a lot of fields and dungeons after a point, so it's not like I was even spending a lot of time fighting or exploring.

Berseria is just in reference to Velvet going berserk with rage. That's it. Phi's true name is related to Tales of Zestiria.
