Doesn't matter how shitty the customer is so racism being involved isn't enough to just give em a pass. They re fortunate racism was involved as now they ll get a sizable cushion in their bank accounts to take care of them while they job hunt, a privilege anyone else who did a similar dumb move wouldn't get

I hate when companies have to side with asshole customers out of fear of looking bad. I got suspended and my hours cut because I asked a guy if I could finish taking another customer's order before I got him a cup of water (there was a hugeass line and he just cut to the front). He demanded an apology and my manager asked me to comply, but I sure as hell wasn't gonna bend over for that jerkwad. I don't question the manager's decision as that was clearcut insubordination, but there was a limit as to how far I'm gonna follow company policy in regards to customers.

Luckily a few days later I got an offer for a much better job, so it all worked out :3

Most companies out there say that you are not to post things on social media while representing the company. I volunteer a lot, and even those have it in the their terms.

While that's a zero tolerance thing, FedEx should now reinstate them since it looks way worse now that it is viral. It's the same way racists and stuff get canceled when something goes viral. The company doesn't really care the person was racist. They care that other people care and could boycott them.

UPS - Has an employee recording him arguing with a racist person. Still employs him. No controversy.

FedEx - Has employees recording themselves arguing with a racist person. Fires them. Controversy.

All UPS needs to do is hire those two guys as soon they can and make a campaign about being an inclusive company that works to combat racism and ensure safety for their drivers.

This was a stupid as hell move by FedEx.
