I browse gamefaqs/4chan out of bordem
But if it's something like reading celeb gossip or blog you might be using it to live through them

Go outside more. Find a new hobby offline. Im trying to figure out what to do now that gaming is completely unsatisfying to me. Besides go outside that is.

Any addiction is something you can only beat through willpower, or replacing it with other things.

Keep a tab open at work to browse elsewhere? Close it, log yourself out and remove the favorite.
Browse the internet on your phone while on the toilet? Keep your phone in your pocket, turn off data and turn off auto-connecting to wifi networks. Uninstall any apps with notifications built in, or turn off the notifications.

These are steps you can take, but further than that --- it's up to you not to just reopen/enable these.

...oh sorry, replace all 'you/your' with 'your friend'.
