And those guys aren't being called terrorists. what is so difficult to get here lol. There are Muslim terrorists, but not all self-proclaimed muslims are terrorists. there are Incel Terrorists but not all self-proclaimed incels are terrorists. If you kill someone in the name of a certain ideology, you're a terrorist, and the "incel movement" is a steady growing one with the same ideology all around. Its not even a case of "some "practice" it this way others this way" like religion. They all follow the same core belief "I'm owed sex, i'm a nice guy why won't they fuck me?"....and if you kill people as a result of that line of thinking, i don't see why you'd take offense to considering that attack related to terrorism in nature. Its not just a random attack. Its being done to either instill fear or out of frustration because of a set of core beliefs.

Thats because its not a religion, so theres where your analogy falls flat. It falls flat in a few other places, I didn't want to take it in that direction though. I'm only commenting on, that, until now that wasn't how the word terrorism was being used for the past few decades. Terrorism usually had a political component: as the article states, terrorists usually want governments to change policy. Radical Islamists: get out of the Middle East. White nationalists: expel all non-whites. Incels: give me a hot chick to bang? It doesn't hold up in that way, but, as the article stated, there are other components to terrorism not usually focused on and by those metrics it fits.

It definitely fits in this case given what the perps motivations were.

If its being done out of frustration its not terrorism. If its being done to instill fear it is. Motivation and intent matters. If fits in this case because this guy was looking to 'take down as many women' as possible. That meets the coercion/intimidation standard.

There's no real standard, accepted definition on terrorism, every country looks at it a bit differently, but this one by the UN general assembly I think does the best all-around job.

"Criminal acts intended or calculated to provoke a state of terror in the general public, a group of persons or particular persons for political purposes are in any circumstance unjustifiable, whatever the considerations of a political, philosophical, ideological, racial, ethnic, religious or any other nature that may be invoked to justify them."

Who said Islamic terrorism isnt? The issue on the left arises from people who want to demonize all Muslims as terrorists. Its one thing to criticize the religion, but to say they all enable and want terrorism is stupid. I take the same stance here. All incels arent being called terrorists here. Just the ones who commit acts of violence in the name of their ideology. Sounds like terrorism to me.

And even then the comparison is idiotic. There are plenty of (millions of) practicing self proclaimed Muslims who do positive for the world. Tell me what positives the incel community brings to the table?

The only "incel community" I'm aware of is any conservative or really any person who criticizes women or feminism. It's pretty much an automatic response on youtube, twitter, or any other place where comments are allowed. So if I don't know anything about incels except that I'm being called one, what reason do I have to think they're such a bad lot?

The problem is being involuntarily celibate does make you an "incel" but it doesn't make you an "incel". And the people who have insisted the term means something else beyond what it means caused this cognitive mess and stoke the flames but then wash their hands of responsibility.

If you are referring to the small subset that hate women or feel explicitly entitled to sex, you should call them "women-haters" or "sex-entitled", then nobody would defend them and we'd skip having this problem in the first place.
