Katana Zero is more polished, but HM had more cultural impact and not a similar game in the genre has ever given the same level of satisfaction in terms of high speed brutality.

Katana zero was more fun, i never finished hotline miami so i dunno if the story is better

as a sidenote, hotline miami's soundtrack is up there with one of the best, and that style is amazing

Hotline Miami is better on every level, but I still really like Katana Zero. If we were talking Hotline Miami 2, I'd probably give Katana Zero the edge though. That one was too hard for its own good.
