ngl, when double standards with respect to the questions of racism and sexism in progressive discourse became apparent, i realized the progressive movement had left me behind

as for the democratic party, my generation of democrats had come of age at a time when bush foreign policy was deemed objectively wrong and the democrats were the de facto peace party

so that people willfully looked the other way when the obama administration toppled libya and began to push for war with syria, and people were so eager to back clinton despite her foreign policy track record, led me to disassociate myself with the party - i'm still a registered democrat, but it's because state law on party registration is rather rigid

i've since gone off the beaten path ideologically, exploring ideas all over the compass; can't call myself a centrist in the sense of conventional politics, but rather in reflecting a rather diverse set of positions not constrained to a particular ideology

Yes but them choosing Biden proves the TC wrong.Biden is a moderate Republican in his positions. Like Hillary before him. They are essentially centrists themselves.

The thing with Bernie is that he couldn't handle the tactics being used against him. The thing with Warren accusing him of saying a woman couldn't be president is what truly buried him as it pushed Warren followers away. At every point they eroded at his progressive voting base before the 1+2 punch of the Castro literacy shit after consolidating the moderate vote into Biden.
It was quite a brilliant strategy imo

As a kid, I was raised as a Christian Republican. Im a legal immigrant (now U.S. citizen) from South Korea.

In Jr. high and high school, I drank the kool aid and became a Democrat. I thought Democrats were for equality for all minorities and for free speech.

Around my senior year of high school, I did some research/investigating and learned that Asians are actually discriminated against under affirmative action simply for being Asian. I also started to notice that a lot of liberals didnt want me to talk about these things and actively tried brush this aside.

Then I saw how Democrats treated Ralph Nader (who has accomplished a million times as much as Bernie Sanders who I consider a huckster and a fraud). I became a third party supporter who voted de anyone who wasnt a republican or a democrat.

Then Donald Trump announced his candidacy. It was such a breath of fresh air to hear a major party candidate call out illegal immigration. I was sold. I would go on to vote for Trump.

After Trump was elected, he called out Harvard and the racism against Asian Americans under affirmative action. Thats when I became a Trump supporter for life.
