I presume I'll just bump it up by one each time I win until I hit a plateau.

That's how I've been treating Endless Legend. That game's a little tougher to do that with, though, because the factions are so radically different in how they play.

I finally got around to completing the first game I started (default settings, so Prince difficulty, Continents map, small map size)

I won via diplomacy on turn 402 or so after doing basically little of consequence all game. I feel like I did nothing, still managed to snatch a win out of nowhere, and it took forever.

Starting to feel like these games might not be for me.
