to be completely fair, and i'm against them cutting history and philosophy, i don't think it was done in favor of e-sports management. i doubt that class costs much to provide. Hell, a lot of schools have shit classes like that taught by volunteer students and Alumni. My cousin taught a class about Bollywood movies once. He didn't get paid for it. It was more like a glorified after school club.

These are proposed degrees and minors, not classes.

No college is doing free entire programs, especially during the current historical moment.

To be a fair, the last time I attended a large state school graduation, the number of philosophy graduates could be counted on one hand. So, like, it's not like (most) philosophy departments are doing much research, so without the students, how can you reasonably maintain enough faculty to fill a department?

If someone is going to take a nonmathy major and then go do something unrelated for work, I'd much rather it be in philosophy, where they often work on critical thinking and logic, than like business management or whatever.
