But Layne was really good, I agree. I'm not sure what his natural tessitura was, but that B natural always sounded very casual and easy for him. True, but natural ability dictates how high you can go. They already had natural talent, and training helped to bring it out. Not to mention, if I recall The Evil Exs didactic lectures correctly, singing in certain ways for a very long time can damage ones vocal cords. The Evil Ex had/has, as they say, a good set of pipes. It's just understanding the mechanisms involved and learning about the different passagio and transitions of the voice. But I understand what you're saying.
