if people want to drop 1200 casually on a phone, sony/microsoft is going to have no trouble selling a super console that can rival modern high end PCs for the same price

Apple's products have gradually inflated. That would be triple to quadruple the current prices for non-VR video game consoles. No way in hell that would fly
