I mean, for the same 500$ the PS5 will cost you probably can't get a similarly-good PC, so that's a point there.

$500 for everything but the GPU then spend what you would have on PS+ over just a few years instead on a high-end GPU that shits all over the PS5

bloodborne not being on a more powerful platform is a tragedy, not something to gloat over. a game that good-looking and fast isn't allowed to run at 60fps. if you guys really cared about it you'd set it free.

They already are in many ways. It just won't be a repeat of the current generation where it was possible to build a PC more powerful than the PS4 using new parts and including KB/M and Windows for less than the launch price of the PS4 before it even came out. Unlike the PS4, the graphics card equivalent of the PS5 GPU has not launched most of two years in advance. Those graphics cards are supposed to be launching toward the end of this year, kind of like the PS5.

Consoles having more power means better graphics for everyone. About a year or two into a console's lifespan is when they start falling behind and holding back developers.

Glad that SSD's are going to be standard now so that devs will make games with them in mind instead of HDD's.

this is what someone who's stuck in the past and has no idea what modern console or PC technology is actually capable of or requires. couch gaming is possible on PC and has been for awhile, and is easier than ever. you can hook up your PC to a TV just the same as a console, and many many games on PC have controller support. and you don't even have to get up to swap out discs anymore. meanwhile, consoles have not been "plug and play" for generations now.
Okay? Doesn't change the fact that it is easier it is to just plug and play a console. The the space needed for said PC is also a pain. Last time I had a PC it took up way too much space and would not fit in my current living room properly. Also, let's not forget the fact that many people prefer physical copies of their games.

lol. This is already starting with last weeks news that AC Valhalla is 30fps and the Unreal 5 tech demo was 30fps.

I do think a few PC gamers will be in for a shock with what they'll need to upgrade in the next couple of years but then it's back to normal for the following 5-7 years.

It is overall easier but you can stream Steam games to Android TV's and the like now. That's how I do couch gaming now. Works great.

It just comes down to the fact that I, along with many others just don't have any interest in gaming PCs. I haven't had a PC in well over a decade now since I can do practically everything I want on my phone or labtop. I like owning and collecting things, which is a large factor in all of console owning. Graphics have never been an important factor to me after the 5 minute wow factor.

Fair enough. Just needed to clarify a few things.

It's funny but owning my games and feeling like I have a collection is why I like my PC. GOG Galaxy shows my library for essentially everything and I can quickly jump between my entire PC library that has games that span decades.

Meanwhile my old PS3 and Vita games may as well be paperweights at this point. I randomly played an old little indie game called JUJU with my wife a few months ago because I noticed it looked like a fun game for us to play. If I owned that on consoles I doubt I'd even play it at all because it's stuck on 360/PS3.

okay? then just be straight and say that you prefer console to PC for no justifiable reason beyond personal preference, instead of making shit up about why consoles are supposedly better when they aren't, when PCs can do the exact same things you say like consoles for.
I'm not the one saying that, lol. The PS5 is currently the best thing out there, but everyone knows PCs always end up looking the best in the end anyways. Consoles do have their advantages if you're looking at more than just graphics and peak performance (usually).

I'm personally not too big of a fan of digital libraries . It is convenient for older arcade games, which I will admit to downloading sometimes though. But when it comes to new releases, it's always a physical copy.

Xbox Series X is more powerful than the PS5.

2080ti is more powerful than both but Nvidia (probably AMD too) will have mid-range stuff coming out before their launch that will blow out both consoles in power. Everything else is already better on high end PC's.

they don't though, that's my point. you said you like consoles because you like couch gaming, and you've been told multiple ways that you can couch game on a PC. and you said that you like consoles because they are plug and play unlike PC, when consoles haven't been simply plug and play for generations now. like i already said.
Idk how you don't consider the Switch or PS4 plug and play. Yeah, you have to update the systems, but besides that, where is that phrase incorrect? I turn on my Switch, put in the game and play. That is pretty much plug and play.

And yes, I've heard in the past you can play PC on the TV, but you're not gonna convince anyone that it's actually easier than plugging in a PS4 or Switch. Someone who has no clue about gaming would have a hell of an easier time getting a console hooked up and playing over a PC. My point about couch gaming still stands. It's much easier in most regards for the average person.

Switch is pretty plug in and play but you need to install games on the PS4 and wait for that to be done before playing. Which is the same as PC.

The primary difference is on console you can do everything with a controller including initial set-up. You will need a mouse and keyboard for the initial PC setup. There are accessories like remotes that can make this easier though.

The problem with price/value comparisons is that PC gamers have higher standards and aim for 60FPS and higher, which is baked into the price consideration. Whereas console games run at 30 with infrequent dips if you're lucky. Literally double the processing demand

Sony is actually slacking on the specs this gen I read. The ps4 was more powerful than the xbox and had better games. This gen it's the xbox and they purchased all these good studios I like like double fine, ninja theory and obsidian. PC gaming is dead to me. It's been dead this entire generation. These consoles keep going up in price where I used to upgrade my pc but it's too costly now and not worth it. This gen it might be. But both these consoles are going to be like $500 a pop each and if they both have good exclusives. Gaming on PC on top of that just seems like a lot of money. If microsoft buys CD Project Red. Godfall looks good too.

The PC I'm sure still has good games but really most of the good multiplats end up on console anyways without having to fuss with specifications. It's more about the overall cost now anyways and value of what you are actually getting. All these things are so powerful. A good gaming PC probably isn't that expensive but really what are you getting? All the good exclusives are on console.
