But China is definitely worse as pointed out along with many other developing countries, though it isn't fair to compare the US to them. The racism in China is pretty bad, it exists here in Japan too, but it's very subtle. Those are two separate things. Most shootings aren't racially motivated, but they are among the many reasons I have no desire to live in America. As for things from the past, you also have Native American genocide, Asian discrimination laws, etc. I don't think historical comparisons makes much sense though.
