This is a good movie. It's quite funny. I haven't laughed out loud, but i didn't laugh out loud at the originals either.

I only laughed once in the entire movie. when one of the Ghost Busters is standing by all these heads on a shelf and she makes a weird face and pretends to be one of the heads and shocks another Ghost Buster. for whatever reason that got a chuckle out of me. but the rest of the movie was pretty bad

anyway I hope the new one will be better. It's about the grand daughter of one of the Ghost Busters I think founding a new team (and it's a mix of male and female members) but they are all like 12 or something. so who knows how it will turn out

Finished it.

I'd give it 7/10. Nothing spectacular, but hey, it's a slapstick comedy about ghosts.

It's not horrible, but honestly I don't think much of it.

One of the things that strikes me is that they didn't really actually do anything with the Ghostbusters concept as a whole, and quite frankly maybe the problem is that there really isn't anything to do with Ghostbusters as a franchise.

Maybe it's just a nostalgic element of the 80's that a subset of fandom is stuck to as "better times". Maybe the enjoyment of the old Ghostbusters was less about the setting and more about the cast they were able to write well for and have them mesh and gel together well.

Which brings me to the other thing: they had these really talented comedians as their core cast and really didn't know what to do with them. It's like each of them are doing their own bits independently of the other cast members.
