100? 200? 500? More?

I think it largely depends on the game. Some games, I was sick of them after 20 hours, but some, I played hundreds of hours, and don't really regret it.

this probably matters more. If you play the same game every week for years it can easily equal to 500 hours but it doesn't mean it is unhealthy.

The timeframe is an extended period of time, basically years.

I'm really not sure what the number for this is. I only have a few games I put in more than 500 hours into (see below), and I was still more or less enjoying them...but my halycon days with them were certainly over. Some games ARE amazing, though. And of course, multiplier modes help.

Goldeneye, on the N64, RA2, on the PC, NiGHTS, on the Saturn, and possibly MW3 on the XBox 360.

I don't mind a 200 hour plus game if the main campaign is about 40 hours, and the rest is optional content.

I have a friend who used to do challenge runs by beating a game in one sitting. And not even like arcade games or the older MGS games. One was Twilight Princess and another was TTYD.

Now THAT was pretty unhealthy.

I'd say;

Spending a lot of time on a game in a short period of time ex people reaching 30+ hours on a newly released game over the weekend.

Even counting Friday, that's still 10 hours per day for 3 days

As long as your playtime not affecting your work and personal life no. Otehrwise after your work, bills and other such responsibilitys are done and paid, you arent inconveniencing anybody and have the free time then who cares?

I really dislike this stigma in society where most hobbies considered 'self serving' are usually a waste.
