It doesnt go against his character. He doesnt believe in being merciless against a woman. Even Tashigi called him on it in loguetown

Several times in the series he is rather lax against people weaker than him. Sexist? Sure if you want to take that approach but he even spared the nun in whiskey peak

He didn't kill the nun or the kid. Way later in the series he even has this moment again where in reference to a woman he says there are several things he doesn't wanna cut unless he has to. He's nowhere near Sanjis complete pacifism level, he just doesn't believe that he should cut down people he deems defenseless, which Robin pretty much was to Eneru

i do get what you're saying, but this is a separate thing from someone's sex. his words to eneru were about her being a woman, not about her being defenseless - which she would have been just as much if she was a man.

as for the other point, i guess i'll have to see. obviously you know more than me lol but this moment felt odd

The arc overall just wasnt very fun to me. I didnt care about what was happening that much. Its probably my least favorite arc of the series
