Really fun and gorgeous game so far, this is my only gripe. I remember the original had that annoying reversed x-axis camera that you couldn't change, but I don't remember the camera being this bad with the y-axis.

Basically when you move the camera left or right it's normal, but if you try to move the camera up or down to look around your surroundings the camera either zooms in really close on your character's back or it gives this weird top down view.

And it's unfortunate because I really want to move the camera and look at the surroundings like I did with Xenoblade, but the camera is weirdly bad and by 2006 camera controls for games were pretty good.

Anyway just started and gonna just see how much I explore of the area around dalmasca before continuing with the story, and hoping I'll get a better feel for the game and battle system. So basically the zodiac jobs determine what weapons the character wields and what spells they learn, if any. Forgot that you need licenses just to equip armor/weapons and that you need to buy spells.

Just want to be powerful enough to make it through trial mode and get enough strong items/weapons to cheese the main game and do marks/hunts early. I didn't do them in the original game and looking to do them now so want to be as powerful as possible.

If you want to ez cheese, use the 100% Seitengrat method to get seitengrats for everyone and literally steamroll through everything with top tier damage and 50% dodging.

The 100% method I used was the one that involved curing for 3 specific numbers btw. The other "100% methods" that involve counting seconds are fairly inconsistent

Once I get far enough in the game I'll do that seingrat method. If having 3 can destroy even rare hunts and the optional content even better.

Well what I did was get my 6 (because some bosses/encounters don't care if you can dodge and sometimes wipes your Frontline if you aren't careful) Seitengrats and then jumped into trials. I would progress as far as I can until I can get 3 ribbons which should pretty much set you for most of the game

What are the benefits of jobs this time around? It seems just a restriction to not let me equip any weapon I want. Couldn't equip the flame staff which I got from Dustia, had to change my job to a black mage, thank god that I get my LP back and for that recent patch as well.

It's been a while since I played but doesn't the base, not picking a job, give limited stats/equip licenses anyways? Youre able to pick two jobs per character anyways to balance so yeah. Just gotta do a bit of planning ahead of time.

Oh. And Seitengrat and the other invisible weapons? You don't need a license to world them

being OP kinda sucks the fun out of the game.

i could barely finish the actual story because i was way OP during the final dungeon since i finished most side stuff first and more or less sleepwalked through every encounter in the final dungeon including the final boss.
