Agreed and also, why the fuck would it release on inferior hardware like the Switch? PS4 & Xbone would make sense, but I'd prefer they wait another year or so for PS5 & whatever comes next.

i think the wording was a bit weird but my understanding was that it's coming on the other mainstream consoles, but any sort of switch release is either unlikely or a far ways off, whereas the other console releases would be closer.

They're PS360 games. Switch typically runs ports at similar or slightly better levels of performance, so a straight port is pretty reasonable. If they're considering Switch, this is very likely a remaster imo. That, and the fact that it is the entire trilogy. But maybe they're trying to copy Resident Evil style remakes.

Maybe the first one, there just isn't a big enough difference for me between an Xbox 360 game and an Xbox One X game. I understand and see the differences but it's hardly drastic enough to revamp it. I bought the Bioshock trilogy remaster and I felt like it wasn't that big of a leap forward and was kind of disappointed with the purchase.

Yeah, not much effort usually goes into these remasters. I mean the best looking PS4/Xbone games look leagues better than the best looking PS360 games (especially at higher resolutions and with good HDR), but remasters are rarely more than a slight bump.

But we could get 60fps/4K console versions, which is always nice.

I think ME2 gameplay is pretty garbage outside of the guns because so many skills have unnecessarily restrictions like Overload doing absolutely nothing against unshielded humanoids or biotic skills being basically useless against shielded enemies. It just made power focus classes really suck early until you can pick up an actual weapon from the Collector Ship or have dlc for the locust.

Infiltrator and Vanguard found a nice mid ground of having useful main skills in Shadow Cloak and Charge and ammo options that you just activate at the start of the map since they last forever.

Despite the terrible ending if this ended up true I'd probably buy it. If it had all the DLC I would insta-buy it. If no DLC, might pass on it.

There is legit no decent way to end the trilogy except for the Reapers continuing the cycle and I doubt gamers would enjoy that.. Bioware wrote themselves into a corner with that plot.

Certainly are, especially when the last Mass Effect trilogy was on PS3. That thing suffered from janky ass pop in. They should remake Mass Effect in the Mass Effect 2 engine.

My ideal game would be 2 with more fleshed out abilities

Yeah, every time I try to replay the series I get halfway through Mass Effect before I put it down out of sheer boredom.

It was okay when it first came out, but ME2 is just so much better.

I'm sure someone is going to say "hardly any items" but like, everything in ME1 is just copy/paste of the same 6 models just with different colors.

And I'll never understand the ammo argument. Weapon cooldowns just brings gameplay to a standstill.

I do actually like what ME1 was trying to do. It's just very clear they didn't have enough time to flesh out every aspect of it. At the very ME1 was some of the most fun for power based builds.
