Honestly I'm a huge console guy, but this is way better.

Picked up Black Mesa, Skyrim, and Jedi Fallen Order (Steam sale)

Black Mesa is great. I've always hated FPS on consoles. Playing it with a keyboard and a mouse is so fluid and tight. Almost like rediscovering the genre.

Get yoself TF2. It's free and the best shooter ever and the community is still thriving as hell despite it being a 2007 game.

Not if youre playing competitively but i play on controller because im more comfortable. I get smoked by better players on KBM though.

but in response to OP. Im with you. I used to be all about console. It was more casual and i didnt really have to worry about upgrades. I built a midrange PC and it blew my PS4 out the water. I saved some money up and built a way better PC. Never looked back

Isn't it glorious, being able to play in true 4k at 60fps? I know console players don't care, but watch how much they "don't care" when their next gen consoles are finally capable of what we have been doing for almost 10 years now.

Honestly I've played Skyrim on PS4, and on PC it's like a new generation. The graphics aren't even comparable.

The fluidity of the movement is crazy too

I don't have a desk at home, but I made a small form factor PC that I could fit into my TV entertainment unit (Ncase M1) back at the end of 2015. I've gotten pretty good use from it, especially since controllers are so easily compatible with most PC games in the last 10 years. Cost about 3x the amount of a console to get started, since I had no peripherals. Lots of cheap/free games though.

I'm still learning how to play FPS on PC. I'm clearly worse than I am on PlayStation. Not used to the extra sensitivity and additional keystrokes. I'm so used to pressure sensitivity and rumble too.

I play from a couch with KB + M just fine, and controllers are not good for FPS at all unless you're playing a game that has on-the-fly input switching like the Battlefield games, which case it's good to have a controller for piloting planes and a KB + M for everything else.

@OP You might also explore some genres of games that are underrepresented on console, like RTS and tycoon/building-style games.

TC check out Microsoft Game Pass for PC. Lots of good games on there and it's really cheap.

I've been meaning to re-sub, they added a lot of games since I was last on there.

I think I'm going to just for Outer Worlds alone. I've wanted to play that game for a while

Make an account on GOG and download Galaxy to merge libraries across multiple storefronts

Follow places like /r/100percentdiscounts and claim things like the Epic Game Store free games every week

You kind of want to be wary about the Galaxy functionality right now, since there is some basic account security/concerns behind how it works and I don't think the trade-off is worth it.
