I have a gaming PC, and I plan to buy a Nintendo Switch when I can for exclusives not on PC. When the PS5 launches, will there be any reason to buy one? Is there a reason to buy a PS4 now?

Yeah, an equivalent pc to a PS5 will cost at least twice as much once released, not to mention exclusives.

Actually with Sonys current direction the concept of an exclusive may be muddy.

It all depends on the exclusives for me. Bloodborne was reason enough to buy a PS4. Same with Halo for Xbox One. Sadly I haven't turned them on in some time, but I'll get to it eventually. Plenty of games I want to experience once I'm finished with my current ones.

Even if they start releasing first party titles on PC it wouldn't be a same day release. Horizon is what 2-3 years old and it still hasn't been released on PC?

With how bad HDR support is on Windows 10, some games look better on a PS4 pro than they do on PC by virtue of real support for HDR.

I play games mostly on my PS4 these days. The gap is much smaller than it used to be earlier in this generation or last gen.

That and exclusives, tons of games I would have missed out on if I only had a PC.

I use a 1080ti and a 5930k for reference.

yeah but now he has a bomb-ass pc instead of a slow shit one and it'll be a long time before he has to upgrade.

personally i don't think it's worth it. the only two exclusive titles i really enjoyed on the ps4 were bloodborne, persona 5, and the 60 fps kh2 remaster. they're some of my favorite games but i don't think i'd get another non-nintendo console. i barely ever play my ps4.

It's like comparing a Porche to a Van. Yeah one is more faster, but both can do the same daily commute. Also one is easier/cheaper to maintain and less in price.

Depends on Street Fighter 6

Just looking at controllers. Looks like PS5 is going to be the console of choice for the game. If they have crossplay again though between consoles and/or PC then imma build a new PC. If not then Ill probably get a PS5 since most people would be playing on PS5

I think more and more games are gonna go crossplay at this point. The potential for more sales is too great to ignore.

... when enough time has passed, enough exclusives have been released and when the price point for the console itself is low enough.

i'm in the camp where my ps4 basically collects dust. i just finished FF7R and sold it but the last time i played on it seriously prior to that was with the release of spider-man so it's only a good thing i paid sub-200 for it.

And I gave you reasons why someone would buy a PS5 over a pc. If that's not enough for you then don't buy one.

It sounds like you're either insecure of your decision not owning one or just trying to troll.

I personally love Sony's exclusive(Bloodborne, Spiderman, Uncharted 4, Persona 5, Gravity Rush 2,Dreams, Horizon, FF7R and GoW) they're some of my favorite games this gen. I also do not want to play with a KB/M, and the only way to be competitive in most multi-player games on PC you have to be good with KB/M.

The last game I've played on my PC was Control. Yeah im thankful I played it over the console version, but it doesn't really justify the over $1000 I spent on my PC.

Yes.

Console is always more popular, so if a game releases two versions on PS4 and pc, the ps4 version will have more players and more contents. If you don't mind that and just want to game with good graphics and mods for a game, then you don't need to buy console.

Competition creates quality. When the WWE bought out its biggest competition, the quality suffered greatly. Same with most mergers. Having exclusive games allow you to focus for a single platform and make it run really well on that platform, rather than force it to suffer to adapt to many platforms, as many companies don't adapt separately.

this is true.

just take a look at online for instance. MS charged for online play and in order to compete, sony then started to charge for online and then, in order to compete nintendo started to charge for online play and in the end all consumers won because of all this great competition.

Yes, but look at the other side of things. Sony forced Microsoft to go back on their no trade policy for X-box games. I believe Microsoft also forced Sony to change some of their policies a couple years later as well.
