This, plus the beaches and golf courses opening, seems like the protestors won in the end.
Add in pressure by Colorado, a member of the Western Re-opening coalition, opening up this week (if not already), and it was only time before the State cracked.

The whole acting superior to thou turns out to be just that, an act.

Im in colorado and I really dont like whats going on here. My city was pretty smart about it for a month. Our governor seemed to handle things right until he caved to one protest. I dont see how we went from being one of the more cautious states to being the first wave of people open.

Our stay at home order ended two days ago, but Im not going to rush out and go back to normal life until I see how this plays out. We did take it pretty seriously, so maybe a month of isolation really has made a big impact. Even if this is true, theres no guarantee that all states should open at the same time. Some places are extending their quarantined, but a lot of them are places where the citizens thought this was a hoax.

Pressure seeing neighboring states get back into action.

In the hardest hit state, New York, they're looking to start reopening up in about 16 days.

Theyre literally running wild. How is it any safer having them scattered all throughout the town? School shut down early and spring break turned into summer break. The parents in my town seemingly just told their kids to go outside and kill time. Theyre everywhere and I would rather them not be out in public like this.

Once the lockdown went into effect, anyone under 18 should have been required to stay inside their house. Not out on the sidewalk. Not on the city trails. Not skateboarding in the parking lots. Inside. Asking parents to actually parent their kids is too much to ask now.

OAKLAND, Calif. California schools could welcome back students this summer and retail and manufacturing businesses could reopen in the coming weeks, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Tuesday as he offered his most concrete glimpse yet of what a gradual reopening may look like.
With health care capacity and hospitalizations stabilizing, Newsom said the state is "weeks, not months" away from making meaningful modifications to a statewide order that has relegated Californians to their homes for nearly six weeks. On Tuesday, Newsom said schools could start the next academic year early, possibly in late July or early August, though he did not specify how much instruction could occur on campuses.

We are considering the prospect of an even earlier school year, Newsom said, adding that we need to start preparing for the physical changes in the schools.
State Public Health Officer Sonia Angell explained that an earlier school year will not only help students make up learning gaps due to current campus closures, but also help parents return to full-time work.

Even the State Public Health Office is in on the plan. The ball is rolling.

It's a tough situation. Watching CNN right now and the president of the National Education Association is on there talking about how it should be ultimately left to medical professionals and teachers. That we can't do this too fast and that social distancing is gonna be very tough.

I think it's a bad idea because schools are petri dishes. But then, what do parents do about going back to work and having someone watch the kids? That's why it's a very tough situation.

You know people under 18 are the least likely to get this right? Out of all cases those under 18 are the smallest group of those who actually got the virus. It is far safer for you to be around a bunch of bored teenagers then any other age group.

Packing hundreds/thousands of kids into a school is different than hanging out with their friends. They still shouldn't be doing that but I'd say a solid 90% of parents should have never had kids and have no idea or interest in raising them properly so you can't really blame the kids if they were never taught between right and wrong.

Isnt this an extremely dangerous misleading post...
First of all they havent even been testing everyone so you have no idea if they had it or not
Second of all younger people have better immune systems so they could have had it, had very mild symptons but could have been spreading it regardless

If California opens a bit hopefully it'll keep the California citizens in state and allow Nevada to stay shut a bit longer without people fleeing to here. So yes Californians, let your state open and stay there, don't come here yet.
