2 is the master piece, and 1 is great. 3 is still a good game, but the other two are better by a decent margin.

honestly from a gameplay standpoint 3 isn't a step down from 2 at all. its a really great game. the music and setting/enemies just aren't as good as 2.

Unpopular opinion, but...
-Theyre all 10/10 games -The next one is better than the last -2 and 3 blow the first one out of the water, and even the first one is a 10/10 this is coming from someone who has major nostalgia for the first one only, Ive had it for years now, and have replayed it many many times. From everything i had heard, I was expecting 2 to be the best, and was actually not looking forward to 3. Imo 3 is the most challenging to 100% and has the best graphics of the trilogy, but Diddy's Kong Quest has the best level design and OST of the trilogy by far. 3 was the most replayable, thanks to lower difficulty and more varied gameplay, but the other two were better games overall.

I really like all of them but 1 is my favorite. 2 has better level design, but I like the music and atmosphere of the first game better.
