We've known each other for over a decade now. I consider him one of my best friends, but lately I've started questioning whether I should be friends with him or not.
He complains about "brown people" at his work all the time but denies being racist. He makes comments about our other friends being fat, to their faces (and they aren't even overweight, he's just very skinny). He doesn't care about the environment because future generations don't matter to him, but then talks about wanting to be a parent. On the other hand, he stood by me years ago when I was suicidal and always has my back. He's a good friend to me. Anyone else had to deal with having a friend who's objectively a bad person but is also a good friend to you? --- Though the fear of death is a common one, the fear of life is a more rational one. ...
