Gave it the Red Rings of Death because it made you keep the console on for hours strait if you wanted to do that 3 day challenge thing.

I kinda wish there was more to infinity mode after you got 5 and 7 day, aside from trying to get to the max time.

It could have been worse. Your 360 could have corpsed without warning, but let you keep inserting discs that it would scissor-scar when you selected Eject (g-a-a-a-mes!). x_x

Demon's Souls killed my first one and Dark Souls the second. Went 360 ever since from that generation.

It's such an easy thing to fix. Give a temporary save state with permadeath. Expecting people to play the game that long without saving was crazy.

My 360 got the RROD from fucking Netflix of all things

Got it Christmas 2006 and it lasted til March of 2010

Got a second one in May 2010 that lasted til I traded it for the Gears 3 console in September 2011, which is still running strong as the media device in one of our guest bedrooms

I got mine somewhere around 06 or 7.

It lasted until like 2013 but I had to trick-start it for the final few years.

Turn it on, switch it from HD to SD and back.

No idea why that worked.

Then it finally bricked while I was blackout drunk. Apparently I was very distraught.

Then I got to experience it again since I didn't remember it in the morning.

My 360 died but I didn't play dead rising for ALL the achievements. I don't get all of them even today on my PS4. I'm a gamer but I'm not that into it like the old days, like the ps2 era. I could fire up some NBA street volume 2, some fight night round 2 on the GameCube and play at least 2-3 hours.....nowadays with this online crap and people playing these games with daily challenges, they just get on to do those and afterwards there's no incentive.

I don't even remember what killed my first 360 but it died within just a few months. Second one has been alive since then and it's the OG fat white shit

God damn that game. I bought a 360 just for that game. I spent so many hours on it. So many damn hours. I used to be in a stickam group stream with the top 5 players and we would just try to get the longest time survived. They were always 1 or 2 on the leaderboard

5 day survivor was no problem, just keep your 360 well ventilated and there were no issues

5 day survivor took 10 hours, 7 day took 14

Fucking around and almost dying to Sniper Carlito 6 days in is one of the tensest moments I've had in gaming. I was down to the flickering 1 life point left before he stopped and gave me a chance to heal myself. This was right before I was going to travel overseas for several months where I couldn't bring my console so if I had died there I wouldn't have been able to try again for several months.

Why would you be mad at a specific game for giving your 360 the RRoD? The console was manufactured with poor quality control, failing on a massive scale regardless of what specific activity you were using it for (games, music, videos, etc.) I think I remember hearing that the replacement program cost MS ~$1.2B, and thats just for the ones that they actually replaced through that program. Still heard plenty of people that just forked out a second and third stack of $300+ to just buy another 360 after theirs bricked.

Yeah I got it replaced 2 times under the replacement program before it was out of warranty. Then I bought a newer version which supposedly fixed those issues. I didnt have any trouble with my new 360 atleast.

This particular game required you to leave the console on for an extended length of time if you wanted to earn a couple of the achievements, and the longer the console was on, the greater the chance for the RRoD

i figure this is the right topic to post my story

In 2018 on black friday, I got a 360 S from gamestop since it was free with mali in rebate. When it arrived I put it in storage since I was in the process of selling a lot of hot wheels. In august 2019 is when I finally got to play it and the power brick turned off after 30 minutes and the controller would always disconnect after 25 minutes then it wouldn't reconnect

I got a wired controller and another power brick and 2 other wireless controllers, I don't know why but the wireless controllers don't want to sync to the 360, I put new batteries, I switched around the battery pack covers, I tried my recharagble duracell batteries, I got the plug n play cable and connected it like that and they still don't work. I don't have any friends that have a 360 for me to try out my controllers. The lights flash and spin and do nothing. It's incredibly frustrating

EDIT: It's been a good system though, I got a bunch of games from thrift stores for cheap such as the assassins creed series, south park stick of truth, pg3 and 4, forza 3 and 4, dante's inferno, mortal kombat, gta 4 and 5, duke nukem forever, dead island 1, mass effect 1, skyrim, lego dimensions, back to the futue the game. jurassic park the game, marvel vs capcom 3, banjo kazooie nuts and bolts, minecraft and others I'm forgetting
