Only just started but it's like it's addressing all the problems I was starting to have with the sequel series. For one I was getting tired of the Republic city setting and wanted to see the other places in the world. Now they're going to the earth kingdom and ba sing se!

plot of this season though is gonna be about bringing back the air nation? Hmm I wonder.

also an evil airbender huh? That's new. Heh if they had a violent airbender during the hundreds year war maybe they could have stood up against the Fire nation.

The villain in this season is probably second only to Azula. And he's honestly a fair bit more complex than she is.

It's funny, last season when they introduced Aang's other kids I was surprised they weren't all airbenders like tenzin. One is a water bender like her mother and bumi isn't even a bender at all. Now it's like the series writers gave him airbending abilities to make up for that. He still had value even if he wasn't an airbender...

I've yet to finish season three, but I think the implication is that harmonic convergence and/or opening the spirit world restored the balance between the four nations.

Ok wow. I am just devouring these episodes. Now I see why people say season 2 sucks, it's only because season 3 is so goddamn better by comparison. My god the quality jump is sky high.

I don't know who this evil gang of benders is but seeing Fire Lord Zuko with his dragon was splendid.

That's high praise. The fire woman in the prison for a second almost reminded me of Azula before I realized it was impossible to be her.

Season 3 is probably my favorite season of the show altogether

I would agree that 3 is the only good season. 1 starts good, but gets lame later.

You know what I like tenzin's family now. At first I thought the kid might get too annoying but I've actually grown to like them and find the airbender family dynamic quite sweet. I love how bolin describes them.

Season 1 is my favorite. Season 3 close second. 4 is also good. 2 had a ton of potential but is just okay

Okay that metal city episode is amazing. So toph had daughters from 2 different dads who they don't even know, that's... yeah. It's a little unorthodox to say the least.

Lin is being such a hardhead with her sister. Jesus what is her problem. Yelling at her niece? Opal seems so sweet and goodnatured.

Easy. The elements weren't in harmony with all the airbenders being dead. Now they are in harmony.

I decided to finish watching it because of this topic and holy shit the fight scene in the last episode of season 3.

TLA was amazing, but I think Korra ups it a little bit in the cinematography department.

Oh wow that's how Lin got her scar? It's not as anticlimactic as fury's scar in the Mcu, but I was surprised.

Would like to know how her sister got her act together because now it seems like being a reckless law breaker worked out in her favor while Lin has had to deal with stress and borderline ulcers from being responsible her whole life, and is now ultimately jaded.

I like tenzin but I'm not sure air nomad way of life is for everyone. It's a hard question, should ancient cultures and traditions die to make way for new ones, or should they be preserved at all costs?

It was stated somewhere that Aang found a new herd of sky bison after the series ended. It's probably why the ones you see in Korra look a little different than Appa.

That's obviously a handwave though.

What is that lava bender's deal, like is he supposed to be the earth bender of the group or another fire bender like the combustion woman. Is he heating up the rocks to form magma or what exactly.

Earth Bending. It's why he was on the wooden ship. He got out when he had some rocks dropped in for him

Phew they thwarted the attackers... For now. I don't know how they escaped, but I'm surprised the villain leader didn't just do that trick when they still actually had the avatar...

Also they're questioning random guards to see if they let the villains in? I don't think it was just some random guard... wait a minute. It couldn't be the so called truth seer could it?

I think lava is sort of like mud in that you can kind of bend it with two different elements. I'm almost positive you see Fire Lord Sozin bend it in a TLA flashback. It would make sense that earth benders have more control over it though.

I really liked that the bad guys lost in that episode. It's rare that you see the antagonists get a setback like that, but they managed to get boned while still looking like a huge threat.

... the red lotus? Really?

On the subject of zaheer complaining about the white lotus... You know, its funny. When the series first began back in book one, the white lotus made me apprehensive at first because they looked too cultish with their robes and authoritarian control of Korra in a remote compound. I remember the white lotus from the original series as these bunch of sweet old men who play pai sho and stand up to fight for good when the need arises. Now they seem a lot more bold and controlling.

I don't want to say I agree with zaheer but my first impressions of the white lotus in Korra was one of mistrust before I accepted them.

Also what the hell they disposed of the truth seer before even telling us why and how he betrayed suyin and the avatar like that. The way zaheer throws him in the pit makes him seem like a random mook. What, he was just helping Su to build and govern metal city only to betray her at the last minute? It doesn't make sense, it feels like they just needed a way to explain how the red lotus could get into metal city.

Finally... so what, zaheer and his friends are just a bunch of anarchists? Seems kinda a lame motivation... And I don't see how unalaq was with them, damn dude was an ass from the very beginning and like, no one noticed.

The truth seer was a member of the Red Lotus first, he just infiltrated Zaofu a long time ago.

And I'm pretty sure this wasn't made very clear, but the wiki states that the Red Lotus' original plan was to do the whole Vaatu thing. When they failed, Unalaq just didn't mention that he was involved and then betrayed them by helping design Sparky Sparky Boom Bae's prison.

Yeah zaheer said that they were also gonna release vaatu but that unalaq being a dark avatar was never "part of the plan" or whatever. My question is why, I mean won't all humans die if vaatu is released, there's no benefit for them. Chaos and anarchy is one thing but this is ridiculous.
